I convert to PNG if it is linework. It looks MUCH cleaner than a JPG, which
is more of a photo format. I use the SnagIt printer driver, rather than
PhotoShop, for most things. I used this for the PDF UL Rated Assemblies
drawings, and the resulting image looks better than a print and scan. If I
had a really nice looking image that needed to stay really nice looking I
would probably go the PhotoShop route.

Hi,
Thanks for answering. I have been working on this for months.

The png still leaves a border around the image.

How do I get rid of the border?

You are probably referring to the frame. Type:

imageframe<Enter>

at the Command: prompt.

After you have turned the frame off, you will not be able to select the
image until you turn it back on.

The free way is to get Ghostscript and GSVIEW from
http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/, and then PSTOEDIT from
http://www.pstoedit.net/pstoedit/. Install them in that order (don't instally
any PSTOEDIT extras, just the basic). Then you can open the PDF in GSVIEW, pick
"Edit" "Convert to Vector FOrmat", and make a DXF which can then be improted into
AutoCAD.

Adobe Illustrator can do it too.

I tried Ghostscript and had quite a conversation with the tech person there. Not much help. Didn't really understand my problem to make any attempt to understand.

The 'imageframe' command is the way to go. Any way works when that command variable is set correctly.

I just use the Windows clipboard and Adobe's "graphic select" tool to copy
the graphic and paste it into my drawing.

But I hadn't heard of or thought of converting the image to another format,
as others have suggested.
